Cybercrimes—New FBI Command Center

A new FBI Command Center will be built in Baton Rouge.[1] Expected to begin operations in the fall, the $300,000 Baton Rouge-based center will “investigate criminals, including identity thieves, child pornographers, hackers, and fraud operators.”[2]

Cybercrime is the third-highest priority for the FBI, ranking above public corruption and just below terrorism and foreign counterintelligence.[3] Over the past few years, the FBI’s offices in the Baton Rouge region have quadrupled in size, and the Bureau has expressed a need for more investigators.[4]
