McNabb in the News (12/5/06)
Senior Principal Douglas C. McNabb has been quoted in an AP article concerning Tyrone Williams:
The jury deliberated for a little more than four days, beginning Nov. 27 and taking a three-day weekend. They resumed deliberating for about two hours on Monday before returning the verdict.
"Juries are made up of personalities of different people. It may be the government had a better jury this time than … they did last time," said Douglas McNabb, … who specializes in federal criminal defense.
McNabb said Williams' team of defense lawyers has an "uphill climb" during the penalty phase.
"I suspect you are going to hear the government really focus in on the number of people (who died) and the excruciating pain that they went through and that he was aware and he could care less," he said. "They are going to try to paint him as the poster boy of human smuggling, that he is just the worst of the worst."[1]
